Storm Detector

STORMDETEC™ is a new generation, patented, field-generator type storm detector for professional use. In real time, it measures variations in the electrostatic field of the atmospheric layer close to the ground, thus revealing any changes that may indicate an imminent storm with a risk of lightning strike in the vicinity.

Easy to install and to implement, it can be fully configured to match the operational needs of the user’s security policy. It can be remotely controlled by computer.

Lightning strike and storms are the cause of numerous natural disasters. They are feared for the extent of the direct and indirect destruction that they cause, so much so, that they are a major economic challenge.

The advanced storm detection© in STORMDETEC™ provides:
- An advanced warning, giving one enough time to implement safetly producers and protective measures so as to limit

  • danger for people
  • destructions, production disruptions

- The means to reliably and cost effectively implement precautionary methods, thanks to its advanced warning system, which can predict an imminent storm up to 20 minutes in advance with a range of over 20 kilometres.

Box

  • A display that shows the operations on the pop-up menu and the value of the measured electrostatic field in real-time.
  • A configurable buzzer with adjustable sound level.
  • A series of alarm indicator lights: level 1: distant storm/local stormy tendency, level 2: strom approaching/local storm developing, level 3: local strom in progress/imminent lightning strike probability.
  • A set of commands for controlling and managing configuration settings.

Box outputs (CCA)
Measurement signals
RS232: Provides the field measurement values, the level 1, 2 and 3 alarms and the failure alarm. Data rate 19,200 bauds.
RJ45 TCP-IP (pseudo modern) protocol, optional, providing the same signals as the RS232.
